PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains what information Nomi collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Nomi is an iOS application operated from the Republic of Korea and available worldwide. This policy also covers the free analysis on our website, nomiwhen.com.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Your birth date, birth time, and birth place. Our engine uses them to work out your timing.
- Your gender.
- A name you'd like the app to call you (optional). It is kept on your device only and is not sent to our servers.
- Your email address, when you create an account. We do not ask for your legal name; when you sign in with Apple, we receive only your email address. An account is required to use Nomi, including the free analysis, so that your reports are kept in your account and open again after you reinstall or change devices.
- If you buy a Two Paths report (a reading about you and one other person), that person's nickname, birth details, and gender. You are responsible for having that person's permission before entering their information.
Information collected automatically
- Records of how you use Nomi, such as which reading screens you open and what you purchase, used to operate and improve the service.
- We do not receive or store your payment card details. All purchases are handled by Apple.
- Nomi does not use notifications, location, advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics tools.
- On our website, your browser keeps one small marker that says you have already received your free analysis, so the site can point you to the app next time. It contains no personal information. The Google and Apple sign-in scripts are loaded only when you tap a sign-in button.
2. How We Use It
- To work out your timing and write the reports you ask for.
- To deliver, save, and let you re-open reports you have purchased.
- To respond when you contact support.
- If our free analyses are full for the day and you join the waiting line, to email you once at your sign-in address when your free analysis is ready. This is not a marketing email.
- If you join the Android waitlist, we use your email only to send one message when Nomi is available on Google Play, and delete it after that message is sent.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your birth details for advertising, and we do not share them with advertisers.
3. Third Parties We Use
We use a small number of service providers to run Nomi. Each receives only what is necessary for its function:
- Apple Inc. — payment processing for all in-app purchases, and sign-in if you choose to sign in with Apple
- Railway Corp. — backend hosting, database, and server logs
- Vercel Inc. — hosting for this website
- Anthropic PBC — written interpretation of your calculated results
- Google LLC — sign-in, if you choose to sign in with Google
- Resend — alert emails to our team, which contain no birth details, the one-time email that tells you your free analysis is ready, and, if you joined the Android waitlist, the one Android launch email
To write your report, we send our AI provider only these things: our engine's calculated results, your age range (for decade and Two Paths reports), the other person's age range (for Two Paths reports), and any nickname you give another person. An age range can show roughly what year someone was born. Your email address, sign-in name, birth place, and coordinates are not sent. It processes this data to return the text and does not use it to train its models under the terms of its business API.
4. International Transfers
Nomi is operated from the Republic of Korea, and the providers listed above operate servers in the United States and elsewhere. If you access Nomi from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data transfer rules, your information will be transferred and processed outside your region. To protect your information when it moves between countries, we rely on standard contractual clauses (legal agreements made for these transfers) and the terms of our providers.
5. How Long We Keep It
We keep your account and your reports for as long as your account is open. Reports you have purchased remain available to you — you can re-open them at any time. We do not delete them after a set period.
You can delete your account in Settings at any time, or ask us by email. Deletion in Settings happens immediately; email requests are processed as soon as we confirm them. Deletion erases your birth details, your free analysis, the reports you purchased (including the other person's details in Two Paths reports), your sign-in sessions, and the email address and sign-in identifiers on your account.
Purchase records (transaction ID, product, date, and receipt) are kept after account deletion to handle refunds and meet tax obligations, for as long as the law requires, typically five years. Records of how you used Nomi and any feedback you sent are disconnected from your account and kept only as statistics.
6. Your Rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the information associated with it.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to, or ask us to limit, some of the ways we use your information.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR, and you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@nomiwhen.com. We respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Nomi is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@nomiwhen.com and we will delete it.
8. Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, access controls on our database, and authentication between our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be announced within the app.
